Testing Requirements & Compliance Points

UN38.3 is a globally recognized standard that ensures lithium batteries are safe for transport by air, sea, and land. It applies to cells, modules, packs, and products with installed lithium-ion batteries.

• T1 - T3: Altitude, Thermal, & Vibration: Simulates extreme pressure, rapid temperature changes, and vibration during transport.
• T4 - T5: Shock & External Short Circuit: Assesses battery robustness against impacts and prevents short-circuit hazards.
• T6 - T8: Impact/Crush, Overcharge, & Forced Discharge: Ensures structural integrity and safety under abnormal electrical conditions.
• Compliance Notes: Testing should be conducted by ISO 17025 accredited facilities. A Test Summary Report is required for all shipments.
